Inflammation refers to the immune response of the body that leads to healing. But too much of it can damage your body. In addition, it leads to obesity, heart problems and even cancer.
It is the foods that are high in sugar or in saturated fat which tend to spur inflammation by leading to hyperactivity in the immune system. This can affect joint pain, fatigue, and inflammation. The best anti inflammatory foods include oily fish such as salon, tuna, mackerel, as well as sardines. All these are high in omega 3 fatty acids that help to reduce inflammation. By eating fish several times in a week, and by cooking it in healthy ways, it would be possible to reduce the risk of heart disease in a big way. Thus, eating baked or boiled fish is considered as being among the best anti inflammatory foods as compared to fried, dried, or even salted fish. For those who do not like fish, an option can be in the form of fish oil supplements.
The best anti inflammatory foods include whole grains. These need to be consumed rather than refined white bread, or even cereal, rice, or pasta. This is because whole grains have fiber that is able to reduce the levels of C-reactive protein that leads to inflammation in the blood. In addition, whole grains have much lesser added sugar.
Next are the dark leafy greens that help to protect the body from cytokines that are the pro inflammatory molecules. The dark green vegetables include spinach, kale, broccoli, along with collard greens. In addition, these dark green vegetables have much higher concetration of vitamins and minerals. These include calcium, iron, along with the disease-fighting phytochemicals. Hence all these can be the anti inflammatory foods for your body.
