A detox diet is aimed at eliminating harmful toxins that sometimes took years to build up within the body. A lot of people are more concerned about losing weight fast using other fat loss methods instead of focusing on a detoxification method.
Unfortunately, many approaches to slimming down teach people to do the wrong things and take fat loss pills which can have ill effects and can lead to rebound weight gain. Some people even ruin their metabolism by trying to lose more muscle than fat and they are praised when they get thinner. In the long run, however, they end up gaining back the lost weight because muscle loss really slows down metabolism.
Having a detox diet allows you to shed off excess fat in a healthy way and keep the fat off permanently. It doesn't involve the dangerous method of taking away all carbs or keeping away from proteins. Instead, it focuses on consuming lean proteins, non-starchy raw vegetables, healthy fruits, certain amounts of beans and drinking plenty of water. You can't get healthy without consuming real food.
A detox diet is the only healthy weight loss method that nourishes the body's detoxification pathways so you won't experience rebound effects. Detoxification speeds up metabolism, decongests the liver, flushes out the body's waste and toxins, and burns fat effectively. It accelerates the slimming effect without dehydrating yourself.
When you have toxin build-up, you retain more water than you actually need. When you detoxify, you lose extra water but this loss is healthy since the removal of water is not forced by diuretic pills.
You should not get into any restricted mono or fad diets like fasting on only one type of fruit or shake or completely eliminating carbs from your meals. Your body needs different types of nutrients so you need to eat real, healthy foods that enable your body to excrete toxins. If you want to lose weight and get healthy, you need to get into a healthy detox diet.
