People need to follow a healthy eating pyramid for ensuring proper nutrition. The recommended daily nutritional allowance is possible by including certain amounts of each food groups. This is really important because optimal physical fitness is a must for a healthy body.
A healthy food pyramid is subdivided into 4 unequal parts containing the amount of servings your body needs from each category. The largest division of this pyramid is at the base and it contains carbohydrates. Therefore, you should eat lots of carbohydrates (breads, or rice) every day.
The next division has vegetables and fruits. This food group can provide lots of minerals and vitamins required for a healthy body. It also helps in balancing out calories that you get from meat.
It is followed by meats, eggs, fish, nuts and various dairy products, though it is important to note that you can get more protein from foods such as spinach and broccoli.
In the last, the smallest division of a healthy eating pyramid contains junk food and sugar. This means, you should eat from this food group very rarely.
The ultimate aim of a food pyramid is to provide you with at least 1800 calories a day. You should keep intake of sugars at 25 kcal a day and never above that. A healthy eating pyramid clearly distinguishes between whole grains and refined grains, between saturated and unsaturated fat and also focuses on mild workouts to maintain an ideal body weight. It is the best way to ascertain the exact amount of calories needed depending upon the person's age, sex and lifestyle.
When you will follow a healthy eating pyramid, you will know exactly which food you should prepare to meet your daily recommended nutritional allowance. This is quite helpful if you are really interested in planning a healthy diet. Aside from a nutritious diet, you should also include regular exercises to maximize your physical fitness.
