If you thought that inflammation is only a bad process, you are mistaken. Inflammation is actually a good process that takes place in the body. In this bodily process, the WBC (white blood cells) and other chemicals in the body combine to cause inflammation which helps in fighting disease causing micro organisms. Unfortunately, sometimes the immune system may trigger inflammation in areas where it's not needed. This causes a medical disorder that needs urgent medical attention due to the intense pain it causes.
Below are top pro inflammatory foods:
A lot of sugar in your diet can increase your weight, cause tooth decay, make you more prone to diabetes and may cause many other health disorders. Certain studies have suggested that too much sugar in the blood triggers inflammation. Therefore, avoid sugary foods. If not, substitute the refined sugars with natural sugars.
*Common Cooking Oils
Common cooking oils such as the sun flower, safflower, corn and pea nut contains a lot of linoleic acid in them. This acid has a pro inflammatory influence on your body. In addition, many common cooking oils contain high amounts of omega 6 fatty acids and little omega 3 fatty acids. As we are aware, too much omega 6 fatty acids trigger body inflammation. Therefore, it is important to avoid such oils and use alternative oils that have a good omega 6 and omega 3 ratio.
Processed foods are usually very delicious but have low nutritional value. Try and avoid such junk foods because they contain a lot of trans fat in them. Trans fats are extremely damaging to your health. They increase your cholesterol levels, lead to obesity and cause inflammation. Some of the foods that contain trans fats include pizza, hot-dogs, burgers, potato fries etc.
Commercially produced meat animals are mostly fed on corns and soya beans. This animal diet contains high pro inflammatory omega 6 fatty acids and low anti inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids. This means that the meat from this animals contains a lot of the pro inflammatory properties thus is likely to trigger inflammation when you eat it. Moreover, these animals are reared within a small space thus are likely to gain excess fat which is still a pro inflammatory agent.
These are just some of the pro inflammatory foods. Some other pro inflammatory foods include dairy products, egg yolks, sodas, alcohol, food additives and the nightshade vegetables.
