The body is able to naturally detoxify itself though there are other methods required to maximize the removal of toxins. These diets have several benefits including prevention of disease, premature aging, headaches, better concentration, strong immune system, higher levels of energy and better digestive health. The diets have been made in ways to eliminate the foods that are a hindrance to the body's ability to detoxify naturally. There are several diets that one can choose from to suit your needs and they involve the consumption of natural food like rice, juices, vegetables, fruits, fresh fish, seeds, nuts and herbs.
They have health benefits that are both mental and physical though are not recommended for those with certain illnesses, lactating and pregnant mothers. Consult with the physician before starting the diet and they will be able to determine which detox diet will be best for you. After detoxing you need to get a meal plan that will ensure you remain in the right path to avoid going back to your old bad habits. If after the diet you do not stick to a healthy eating plan, you will gain back all the weight you have lost.

Juice fasting is on the extreme for those that want to lose weight. In this diet only water, fruit juices and vegetables are consumed. This is done for a week. With the green smoothie diet you are expected to consume the vegetables either as a juice or in the raw form. Vegetables can be blended as this helps them retain their content of fiber which is important for the digestive tract to function smoothly.
