A clinical professor, Dr. Scott Zashin, says that the foods that are rich in sugar and saturated fat can increase inflammation. When you consume sugar rich and fatty foods then your immune system gets overactive which may cause damage to the blood vessels and may lead to joint pain and arthritis. Therefore, it is very important that you follow a strict diet including anti inflammatory vegetables and fruits.
A research conducted by medical experts suggests that eating dark leafy green vegetables plays an important role in protecting the body from cytokines, a pro inflammatory molecule, as they contain vitamin E. One of the best sources of this vitamin are vegetables with dark green leaves like collard greens, broccoli, kale and spinach. The anti inflammatory vegetables also have high concentrations of minerals and vitamins including iron, calcium and phytochemicals that help to fight diseases. They are not present in light green colored vegetables.
Spinach is one of the best anti inflammatory vegetables as it contains anti inflammatory and antioxidatvie carotenoids and flavonoids. It is a high source of vitamins A, B, C, E and K and minerals like folate, calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron. If you eat spinach regularly then you will be amazed to see that your inflammatory pain has reduced to a great extent. Broccoli is another vegetable with anti inflammation properties. It contains phytonutrients that help the body to get rid of carcinogenic compounds thus reducing pain. So if you are having inflammatory pain then consider eating a lot of anti inflammatory vegetables.
