Many people have conditions that are affected by inflammation. These conditions may include Crohn's Disease, arthritis, allergies or fibromyalgia. While there are medications you can take to help reduce inflammation, watching your diet and cutting back on pro inflammatory foods can do so with fewer side effects.
There are many different types of pro inflammatory foods that can increase inflammation in your body. While inflammation isn't always a bad thing, it can help protect your body when you get a cold, accidentally cut your finger or bruise your leg, but if you have one of the chronic diseases mentioned previously, inflammation can exacerbate those problems.

It seems like corn or one of its by-products is in practically everything you eat or drink. Corn is one of the largest crops in the United States and it is a cheap food, but despite how tasty it can be, corn can cause inflammation of the stomach. To help reduce inflammation, avoid eating corn or consuming one of its by-products, including high fructose corn syrup.
While people with celiac disease should avoid gluten, it is estimated that 5 to 10 percent of people who do not have this disease are also sensitive to gluten. It you noticed a stomach ache shortly after consuming bread or pasta, then you may be sensitive to gluten. You can reduce inflammation caused by gluten by reducing consumption of foods containing wheat.
If you have a sweet tooth, you may not realize that you could be consuming pro inflammatory foods. Foods containing sugar increases the body's blood glucose levels, which in turn produce cytokines. Cytokines is a chemical that creates your body's inflammation response and if you are eating too much sugar, your body's inflammation levels will rise.
