Inflammation may be compounded by the foods we eat. Though there are many drugs that control this condition, they pose greater risks in terms of side effects. Inflammation can also be caused or worsened by the foods we eat. Foods with lots of sugar, salt, fat or any processed food all contribute to this condition. The best way to deal with inflammation is to avoid these foods and to invest in more healthy and natural alternatives. A good example would be foods that are anti inflammatory.
Try to eat a lot of fruits. They are a great source of natural sugar, essential vitamins and minerals. Green leafy vegetables are also good examples of foods that are anti inflammatory. Including healthy portions of vegetables and fruits to your daily diet is important in ensuring good overall body health. These work to get rid of byproducts from inflammation. They are great antioxidants and you should eat a wide variety of them too. Natural spices and herbs are also a great source of anti inflammatory compounds. Foods such as green tea, turmeric and ginger contain special bioflavonoids that work to stop the production of free radicals in the body.
Other foods that are anti inflammatory include whole grains. Whole grain such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, rye and oats are good for you. They are rich in fiber and vitamins.
Eating lots of fish is also a good idea, especially wild seafood. However, it is important to choose either organic farm fish or fresh water fish to avoid any toxins. Shellfish, salmon and sardines make a great anti inflammatory food choice. These are also essential sources of omega 3 fatty acids. A small portion of nuts such as walnuts and cashew nuts every day is also a good source of omega 3 fatty acids. Avocados are also rich in these essential fats. You may also use olive oil which is a source of healthy fats as part of your diet. Finally, add legumes and beans to your diet.
These are all great foods that are anti inflammatory and will do an excellent job of improving your overall body health.
