Be careful when using cayenne, though, because it produces heat. Apply it topically in small amounts and slowly increase once you become accustomed to the heat.

Garlic is one of the most popular natural remedies. It has antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties that make it an essential item in your home, not just for cooking, but for providing first-aid relief too. Aside from these properties, garlic also contains a sulfur compound that prevents the activation of inflammatory enzymes. It is advised that you mince the garlic first, leave it for 15 minutes to release the active components, before digesting it. Some studies have shown that heating garlic will reduce its effectiveness, which is why it is best to eat it raw.
Natural Anti Inflammatory Remedies #3: Turmeric
Recent studies showed that turmeric could help treat fibromyalgia and arthritis, which are both inflammatory diseases. This may be new to the world of science, but this has been long known in ancient Chinese and Indian traditional medicines. Turmeric, as it turns out, contains two dozens of anti inflammatory compounds, making it very effective in treating arthritis. The recommended dosage for turmeric is about 500 mg, taken three times a day.
