Living a healthy lifestyle doesn't have to be hard, it can start with something as simple as a healthy shopping list before heading to the store. If you're looking to help beef up you and your family's health rather their tummies then take some time out to prepare before you head out. In this blog I'll be talking about super foods, detoxifying your body and omega 3 fatty acids, three essential components to keep you and yours on track to a better life.
First things first, finding the health benefits in each food you buy is key. Most folks go for foods that are quick; pop it in the microwave types of foods; if it's in a package it's probably not good for you. Making a healthy shopping list will eliminate this. Try to stick to super foods and good fats as well as anything that will help detox your body.
What is a super food? Well, a super food is anything that has a health benefit by consuming it. Foods like hot peppers, nuts, and beans help with metabolism, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Adding super foods to your shopping list is easy and your family probably won't even notice your trying to sneak healthy foods in.
Most packaged foods are full of saturated and trans fats that our bodies can't process. Try finding foods rich in omega 3 such as salmon, walnuts, dark green veggies, olive oil and flax seed. Omega 3 fatty acids can help reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, inflammation and joint degeneration.
If you're feeling sluggish try foods that will help detoxify your body. Artichokes help boost your liver function while producing antioxidants. Garlic, lemons, broccoli, apples, and avocados are also great ways to clear out your body the natural way; basically anything high in fiber, amino acids and allicin which helps flush the body of toxins.
So make a healthy shopping list and check it twice, it's easy to eat and shop healthy, your body will appreciate it!
