A detox diet is simply a diet that's designed to get rid of the toxins and poisons in your body caused by your eating habits. It's your jump-off point to become healthier and achieve wellness. You may later combine it with exercise or sports to give your body the maximum benefits and keep it in top-form.
There are many types of detox diets. Some diets are juice fasts, while others allow you to eat a certain number of meals a day. These plans require you to eat more of certain foods such as fruits and vegetables while eliminating other foods like processed foods, dairy, and wheat to name a few.
If you're interested in starting on a diet, here are some things to keep in mind: Assess your lifestyle. If you're a busy person, a 7 day diet plan works for you. Restrictive diets can affect your performance so choose a time when you're not very busy so start your detox. Go slow. It might be tempting to rush the process by fasting but it can have a rebound effect. Simple changes such as drinking more fluids and eating more fruits and vegetables can have a profound and longer lasting effect.
Your body's cells naturally break down from wear and tear. Your lifestyle affects it's mechanisms. At a cellular level, your body repairs itself from abuse you heap on it but eventually, it takes longer and longer for it to recover. Detox diets help your body to repair itself and function the way you want it to, it's no wonder more and more people use it to achieve wellness.
