Are you looking for some healthy snacks list ideas? There are several things you can eat that provide nutrition and are good for you to eat between meals.
A healthy snacks list should include vegetables. Vegetables are low in calories and provide important nutrition. When eaten raw, they retain the vitamins and minerals important for our health. Celery and carrot sticks are examples of snacks that are good for us and have almost no calories. It may take a bit of time to get used to eating raw vegetables without any dressing. If you do want to use a dressing, there are varieties available that are low in fat and calories.
Nuts are a very good choice to include in a healthy snacks list. They include protein, which helps keep the blood sugar at good levels, and prevents hunger pangs. Almonds, sunflower seeds and peanuts (unsalted) are good choices.
Do you crave something sweet for a snack? Frozen grapes are a healthy option. Simply wash grapes and allow them to completely dry. Then place them on a cookie sheet and place in freezer. They will make a crunchy, sweet treat that is delicious and good for you.
Popcorn can be included in a healthy snacks list if it is prepared properly. Popcorn should be made in a hot air machine, rather than cooked in oil. This is a healthy choice when butter and salt are not added as popcorn is a good source of fiber and antioxidants. Microwave popcorn is not a good choice due to the preservatives that are added.
A delicious and healthy smoothie can be made quickly with soy or skim milk and yogurt, your favorite fruit and some ice. For even more nutrition, add some wheat germ or flax seed when blending.
These healthy snacks list ideas take little or no time to prepare. They all contain important nutrition and will not add a lot of calories to your daily intake.
