It is an undeniable fact that people love to snack. It could be between meals or even a midnight snack that many consider as unhealthy. However, snacking can be a healthy treat if you choose the right food. There's no need to feel guilty as long as you have a healthy snacks list. Check the following treats that you can indulge on without affecting your well-being and waistline.
A lot of people think that nuts are bad because they are misinformed. Truth is, nuts like macadamia or almonds have healthy fats that provide EFAs or essential fatty acids. You'll be surprised to find out that people who hike bring nuts to supply them energy. Try nuts instead of cookies when watching your favorite show.
Keep your gut healthy by having yogurt as snack. There are many flavors to choose from that can substitute for ice cream. Sprinkle some nuts on top and always keep this food as part of your healthy snacks list.
3. Dark Chocolate
The one with higher cocoa content of more than 70 % is better for your heart. Consume in moderation, as chocolate does contain a lot of fat.
This should always be included in your healthy snacks list because the fruit has more potassium than bananas. Plus, the fats are actually unsaturated with less calories. Think guacamole to make it more interesting.
Make sure that it doesn't have any cheese or butter, just plain salt. Grab a big bag and watch all the trashy movies you want. At least, you're snacking on a zero calorie food. Additionally, don't pair this with a can of soda.
These are just samples of choices you can include in a healthy snacks list. You can also try some crunchy veggies like carrots or celery. Just keep in mind to stay away from food that's loaded with sugar or fat.
