A detox diet speeds the removal of toxins from your body, which can give both your immune system and weight loss efforts a big boost. A healthy snacks list can be very useful when you just need something to chew on while on a detox diet. Such a list typically consists of eliminating unhealthy snacks from your diet and increasing your consumption of a few others that are known to help the body detoxify.
Here is a healthy snacks list to munch on, and cleanse your body:
Fruits, such as lemons, plums, mangoes, pineapples, grapefruits, kiwis, and apples are rich in nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals that help the body to wash out toxins. Fruits are also high in liquid-content and are easy to digest making them a perfect snack for a detox diet plan. There are many healthy snack ideas that you can try out. They include mixing banana slices with almond butter, cherries with raw cashews, dipping apple or pear in lemon Tahini dressing, and so on. Basically, the choices are endless. You could even opt for dried fruits with no added sugar or preventives.
Nuts are a super snack food that cannot miss in any healthy snacks list. Studies have shown that nuts help to lower the levels of bad cholesterol in the body. This reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, they are high in vitamins and minerals, such as zinc, copper, calcium, magnesium, selenium and folate, which are very handy in the body cleansing process. You can choose raw or dry roasted nuts, but avoid the ones with added salt.
3. Fresh Vegetable Snacks
Fresh, raw vegetables make great snacks that you cannot afford to exclude in your healthy snacks list. They are loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that support the body's natural detox system. Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, beet, garlic, Brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, asparagus, artichokes, carrots and onions are rich in naturally occurring glutathione and sulphur that help the liver to purge harmful chemicals from the body.
4. Healthy Pre-Packaged Snacks
Contrary to what you might think, there is a wide variety of pre-packaged snacks that are not only healthy, but can also help to eliminate toxins from your body. They include things like organic beans, hummus, baked apple chips, baked sweet potato chips, unsalted rice cakes with almond, baked carrot chips and many others. The most important thing to remember when you are purchasing any of these pre-prepared snacks is to avoid the ones with hydrogenated fats, and added sugar, salt or artificial sweeteners.
