Most women today aim at being unrealistically thin, forgetting that just being in shape is not important, it is equally important to remain healthy. Following improper diet plans might not help you lose weight, but surely will make you fall sick. If you want to lead a healthy life, look good, and be in shape you need to follow a proper diet plan. A healthy eating plan for women includes everything that your body needs to stay energetic and lively. Below is given a list of things that should be included in your diet.
Women below the age of 50 need to include 25 grams of fiber in their diet each day, and women over 50 are recommended to include 21 grams of fiber. Fiber helps in slow glucose absorption and thus the blood sugar level remains normal. Moreover, fiber makes you feel full quite early, so it will prevent overeating.
During the menstrual cycle women lose a lot of blood each month. If you do not have the right amount of iron in your body, it can lead to anemia and other health problems. So, be aware of your iron intake.
Vitamins are very important for your body. In a day your body needs 700 mcg of vitamin A, 75 mg of vitamin C, 15 mg of vitamin E and women above 50 need 10 mcg of vitamin D and women below 50 need 5 mcg. Fresh vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamins, so make sure you include plenty of them in your daily diet.
Women have high risks of developing osteoporosis, so a healthy eating plan for women needs to include 1,000 mg of calcium in a day. If you are in your post menstrual period your diet should include 1,500 mg of calcium each day. Make sure you have calcium rich food like skimmed milk, yogurt and cheese to keep your bones strong.
While following a healthy eating plan for women make sure you eat your food on the right time. You should have 5 small meals each day. Do not skip meals even if you are busy, and avoid eating junk food and high cholesterol food items.
